Resource Room/Literacy Coach

About the role

Provide targeted, evidence-based reading intervention and support to students who are below grade-level in reading or who require specialized instruction to meet literacy goals.

Responsibilities

• Assess students’ reading levels using research-approved screening and diagnostic tools.
• Develop and implement individualized and small-group intervention plans based on assessment data.
• Deliver explicit, systematic instruction in phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension.
• Maintain accurate records, prepare progress reports, and participate in parent/teacher meetings.
• Collaborate with classroom teacher and families to coordinate supports and share strategies.
• Support a positive, inclusive classroom environment and promote student engagement and independence.

Qualifications

• Valid teaching certification; Reading Specialist endorsement or equivalent preferred.
• Demonstrated knowledge of structured literacy approaches and evidence-based reading interventions.
• Experience working with diverse learners and using assessment-driven instruction.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and data-analysis skills.
