About the role

The Resource Parent Support Worker (RPSW) provides primary support to resource parents working with/caring for children placed at the General level of care. The RPSW engages in a variety of activities intended to promote the stability of General placements by ensuring that resource parents have the knowledge and skills they need to manage and cope with challenges exhibited by children in their care. The RPSW is chiefly engaged in face-to-face coaching, behavior modification, and service coordination, but also carries out tasks related to communicating with external partners and auditing and reporting on assigned cases.

Responsibilities

  • Engage in face-to-face coaching, behavior modification, and service coordination
  • Communicate with external partners and audit and report on assigned cases
  • Support and coach resource parents
  • Contact with individuals, their families, representatives of private and public welfare agencies, representatives of professional and community groups, and the public

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work or related field including but not limited to sociology, psychology, counseling, criminal justice, education, divinity, or public health administration
  • Minimum of one year of direct social work experience providing services to children and families in a behavioral health setting
  • Bilingual in Spanish is a plus!

Qualifications

  • Adult and Pediatric CPR Certification Required
  • PA Child Abuse Clearance required
  • PA Mandated Child Abuse Reporter Training Required
  • FBI Clearance required
  • PA Criminal Clearance required
  • Health Assessment required
  • TB Test required

Skills

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Knowledge of child development and behavior management
  • Experience with case management and service coordination

Pay

Salary range: $40,000 - $50,000 annually, commensurate with experience.

Schedule

The schedule is based on the program and client needs, typically 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday.
