Resource Nurse-Cardiac Progressive and Surgical Unit, Full Time Days

About the role

The incumbent plans and implements professional nursing care for patients in accordance with hospital policies. They also assume charge nurse responsibilities as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Affirms patient care needs through assessment
• Organizes appropriate patient care based on identified needs
• Implements and evaluates patient care plans
• Maintains a safe environment for patients
• Keeps an accurate and relevant record of patient care
• Administers medication as directed by a physician
• Recognizes and responds to life-threatening situations
• Fosters collaborative relationships with interdisciplinary teams
• Maintains quality of care based on outcome-oriented indicators
• Participates in cost containment efforts and accurately charges for patient services
• Adjusts care based on age-specific physiological and psychosocial needs
• Supports patients in practicing their cultural and spiritual beliefs within the limits of medical regimen

Requirements

• Associates Degree in Nursing required
• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred
• Current licensure in North Carolina as a Registered Nurse or Compact state licensure
• At least 1-2 years of progressive care experience, including experience with acute cardiac disorders, cardiac dysrhythmias requiring drug therapy/adjustment, pre and post-surgery requiring telemetry monitoring, and post-CT surgery
