Staff Nurse, Cardiology - Full-Time, Days

About the role

Be a part of a world-class academic healthcare system, University of Chicago Medicine, as a Staff Nurse in our 4C Cardiology/Observation department at our Hyde Park campus. This position is a 100% onsite opportunity. You will need to be based in the greater Chicagoland area.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes appropriate assessment skills to determine patient needs
• Develops a plan of care for those patients whose needs do not require the expertise of a Case Manager or collaborates with the Case Manager to develop a plan of care for specified patients
• Assumes charge nurse responsibilities as assigned by Care Center Director or Patient Care Manager
• Provides support to peers by assisting as needed, being a resource person and working as a team member
• Affords assistance in the development/attainment of goals and objectives for the Care Center
• Uses clinical pathways and/or plans of care incorporating standards of practice
• Assesses own need for professional growth and development and seeks appropriate resources to meet needs
• Attends continuing education programs and participates in program evaluation

Requirements

• Graduate of an NLN accredited School of Nursing
• Associate Degree in Nursing
• Current Illinois RN license
• Active BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA)
