About the role
The Resource Navigation Specialist will support mission-driven organization that provides services to older adults, individuals with disabilities, caregivers, and families.
Responsibilities
- Answer incoming calls and speak with individuals seeking support services
- Screen callers to better understand their needs and determine next steps
- Provide information on community programs, benefits, and available resources
- Refer callers to the appropriate agencies, services, or support programs
- Document calls, case notes, referrals, and follow-up information in a database
- Follow up with callers or agencies when needed to confirm referral status
- Maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive client information
- Use Microsoft Office, databases, and online tools to research and document information
- Support older adults, caregivers, and family members with patience and professionalism
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required
- 2+ years of experience in social services, human services, intake, referrals, call center, case support, benefits assistance, or community resource support
- Strong phone communication and listening skills
- Comfortable speaking with older adults, caregivers, and individuals who may need extra support
- Ability to stay calm and professional with difficult or emotional callers
- Strong documentation and data entry skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Comfortable using databases and online systems
- Typing speed of at least 35 WPM
- Bilingual English/Spanish or English/Creole preferred
