About the role
The Organization North Los Angeles County Regional Center (NLACRC) is a private, non-profit agency serving individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. This position is located in the San Fernando Valley, Santa Clarita Valley, and Antelope Valley.
Responsibilities
- Serves as a resource development specialist, working closely with the Agency Resource Development Plan.
- Monitors and evaluates services, generates and coordinates Request for Proposals, and works with vendors to develop resources.
- Consults with Consumer Services staff and assists in resolving service planning issues and resource identification for consumers.
- Investigates, documents, and reviews vendor applications, ensuring compliance with vendorization requirements and timelines.
- Reviews and organizes vendor file documents, enters new vendor information into electronic databases, writes program resource announcements, and distributes them to NLACRC staff.
- Writes letters to vendors regarding their status and service delivery issues, conducts quality assurance support, and provides training.
- Conducts and provides technical assistance to providers for program issues, reviews program policy and procedures for risk mitigation, and assists in investigations.
- Writes detailed reports of evaluation findings, advises service providers on implementing corrective actions, and follows up on implementation.
- Assists in rate review and analysis on vendor cost statements, reviews audit materials, and provides input on new program development and costs.
- Facilitates approval processes between all parties for service development agreements, attends interagency meetings, and facilitates trainings, workshops, and fairs.
- Maintains knowledge of current regulations affecting vendorization requirements, rate setting practices, and investigates and cites statutes and regulations as needed.
Requirements
- Valid California Driver’s License and reliable transportation, or acceptable substitute, required.
- Frequent telephone and out-of-office meetings required.
Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, human development, sociology, public health, or a related field and two years of related experience.
- A Master’s degree may be substituted for two years of general related experience.
Skills and Abilities
- Decision making, collaborative problem resolution, comprehending and communicating complex information, professional written and verbal communications, ability to work effectively with people from a variety of cultures.
- Basic skills and experience in Word processing, drafting professional correspondence, accounting, review, and analysis of written documents.
- Ability to facilitate trainings and conduct professional presentations.
- Proficiency in numerous standard MS Office Suite software programs and ability to learn new software applications for contracts and database tracking as needed.
- Developmental or related disabilities, service provision techniques, resource development, current values and best practices in service delivery (especially in regards to residential resources), current regulator information.

Pay
Regular Salary: $30.08 - $42.50 per hour. Starting salary is typically between the $30.08 and $33.20 of the range, depending on internal equity and experience.
