Resource Center Specialist
About the role
The Resource Center Specialist connects individuals in need of assistance with services and resources to meet their needs. This may include linking an individual to financial assistance, disability-related services, medical programs, rehabilitative services, vocational rehabilitation, legal assistance, housing assistance, disaster relief, food pantries, home-delivered meals, in-home assistance, or other services/organizations that empower individuals to live independently within their communities.
Responsibilities
- Connect individuals to services and resources to meet their needs
- Utilize technology to perform job requirements
- Provide referrals and information to clients
- Ensure clients receive appropriate services and resources
Requirements
- High School Diploma or G.E.D.
- A minimum of 3 years social work or case management experience in the areas of aging, disabilities, community health, nursing home or hospital discharge planning preferred
- Alliance of Information Referral Specialist (AIRS) certification. If not certified, you must become certified within one year of hire
Qualifications
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Experience in customer relations, call management, information and referral or related field
- Ability to utilize technology provided to perform requirements of the job
Skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
- Knowledge of local community resources and services
