Resource Analyst
About the role
This position is for a hands-on SPM Resource Analyst responsible for operating and managing the organization's resource planning process. The role involves aligning project and portfolio resource demand with organizational capacity by managing resource forecasting, allocation, and capacity planning within the ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management platform. The ideal candidate will not simply advise but will actively perform the work of extracting, analyzing, and reporting on resource data to support strategic priorities.
Responsibilities
- Operate and manage the organization's resource planning process, including enterprise-wide capacity management.
- Analyze capacity and demand across the technology portfolio, identifying bottlenecks, conflicts, and staffing gaps.
- Extract and analyze ServiceNow data, run custom Python models, and produce capacity planning reports.
- Work with leaders, project managers, and resource managers to improve data quality and forecasting.
- Produce and socialize portfolio-level reporting and recommendations with leadership to drive data cleanup efforts.
- Facilitate discussions regarding staffing, utilization, and planning issues.
- Coach managers and project leaders on resource planning processes and data adoption.
- Establish and enforce resource management standards and improve the consistency of forecasting practices.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, Project Management, Finance/Accounting, or a related field.
- Experience: 5+ years of experience in IT PMO, resource management, portfolio management, workforce planning, or project/program management. 3+ years working with ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management or comparable PPM/SPM platforms. Experience supporting enterprise IT organizations with multiple concurrent projects.
- Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of ServiceNow SPM capabilities including Resource, Demand, Portfolio, and Capacity Planning. Experience with custom Python models for data analysis. Advanced modeling skills in Microsoft Excel. Proficiency with Power BI, Jira, and Microsoft Project.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience balancing contractor and employee staffing models.
- Experience in healthcare, financial services, or other large enterprise environments.
- Familiarity with Clarity PPM, Planview, or similar platforms.
- Certifications such as ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist – SPM, PMP, or SAFe Agilist.

Pay
The salary range for this position is $80,000 - $120,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.
Schedule
The role is remote, with flexible hours to accommodate your needs.
