Functions as the strategic business leader of property operations and acts as General Manager in his/her absence. Areas of responsibility include Front Office, Business Center, Retail/Gift Shops, Recreation/Fitness Center, Housekeeping, Security/Loss Prevention, Engineering/Maintenance, Food and Beverage/Culinary.
Responsibilities
- Works with direct reports (Executive Committee members and department heads) to develop and implement the operations strategy and ensure implementation of the brand service strategy and brand initiatives.
- Ensures operations meet the brand’s target customer needs, associate satisfaction, revenue growth, and financial performance.
- Develops and implements property-wide strategies that deliver products and services to meet or exceed the needs and expectations of the brand’s target customer and property associates.
- Keeps operations team focused on critical components to drive guest satisfaction and desired financial results.
- Reviews financial reports and statements to determine performance against budget.
- Ensures capital expenditure funds address priorities outlined in the service strategy.
- Identifies and analyzes operational challenges and facilitates solutions to prevent reoccurrence.
- Coaches and supports operations team to manage occupancy, rate, wages, and controllable expenses.
- Reviews Wage Progress Report and holds team accountable for results.
- Makes and executes key decisions to keep property moving forward toward achievement of goals.
- Strives to improve service performance and communicates operational goals to produce desired results.
- Ensures brand and regional business initiatives are implemented and followed up.
- Tours building regularly to understand business needs and assess operational opportunities.
- Establishes a vision for product and service delivery on property.
- Champions the brand’s service vision and ensures alignment among the property leadership team.
- Observes service behaviors of associates and provides feedback.
- Hires operations management team members with strong functional expertise and leadership.
- Conducts annual performance appraisals according to Standard Operating Procedures.
- Utilizes an "open door" policy and reviews associate satisfaction results to address concerns.
- Fosters associate commitment to excellent service through daily stand-up meetings and modeling desired behaviors.
Qualifications
- 2-year degree from an accredited university in Business Administration, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related major; 8 years’ experience in management operations or related professional area.
- OR 4-year bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related major; 6 years’ experience in management operations, sales and marketing, or related professional area.

Pay
Salary range $175k–$200k.
