Resort Maintenance Facilities Technician- BQR

About the role

This position supports the facilities technician team with knowledge of all aspects of facilities maintenance. It enhances the property work environment and responds to guest repair requests. The role involves communicating with guests to resolve maintenance issues, performing preventive maintenance, and carrying out various tasks such as cleaning, painting, and repairing equipment.

Responsibilities

• Supports facilities technician team with knowledge of all aspects of facilities maintenance.
• Enhances the property work environment.
• Responds and attends to guest repair requests.
• Communicates with guests/customers to resolve maintenance issues.
• Performs preventive maintenance on tools and kitchen and mechanical room equipment, including cleaning and lubrication.
• Visually inspects tools, equipment, or machines.
• Cleans all technician areas as directed by Management.
• Maintains maintenance inventory and requisitions parts and supplies as needed.
• Reads, logs, tracks, and interprets readings from meters, gauges and other measuring devices in accordance with inspection and rounds procedures.
• Assists in the compilation of data for preventive maintenance inspection records.
• Tests, troubleshoots, and performs basic repair on all types of equipment, plumbing (e.g., plunge toilets and unclog drains), electrical components including lamps, cosmetic items, extension cords, vacuum cleaners, internet devices, replace electrical switches and outlets, and program TV's.
• Performs repairs on interior and exterior landscaping as well as external landscaping sprinklers.
• Performs general housekeeping and technician-related inventory duties.
• Safely operates and stores tools, equipment, and machines.
• Follows Hazardous Material Management Program procedures for handling and disposing of chemicals, fertilizer, pesticides, blood borne pathogens, etc., including using Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS).
• Identifies and corrects unsafe work procedures or conditions and/or reports them to management and security/safety personnel.
• Maintains proficiency of fire sprinkler and emergency power system and be familiar with the duties and responsibilities of the Fire and Emergency Rescue Teams.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or G.E.D.; or one to three month’s related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Technical Trade or Vocational School Degree.

Schedule

Full-time. Hourly. Year-Round. 40 hours a week, 8-hour shifts. Weekend availability and some nights required. Must be available for an on-call schedule.
