Work Type: Full-time, year-round, hourly position with 40-hour work weeks and 8-hour shifts. Must be willing to work on weekends.

About the Role

Assists in all aspects of the housekeeping department, including cleaning rooms or villas, house aide duties, and public space cleaning. Ensures room cleanliness meets inspection standards, enters room status on assignment sheets, and completes checklists to report cleanliness and condition of each assigned area. Identifies room assignments and types of cleaning required, responds to guest and department requests, and follows procedures for entering guest rooms.

Responsibilities

  • Adhere to quality assurance standards and expectations.
  • Report work-related accidents or injuries to management and follow Hazardous Materials Management Program protocols.
  • Ensure staff wear PPE when needed.
  • Schedule routine carpet/tile cleaning and deep cleaning of rooms.
  • Attend periodic staff meetings to discuss company policies, guest complaints, and service improvements.
  • Plan and post housekeeping, laundry, and houseman schedules to ensure adequate service.
  • Prepare room assignments for cleaning and schedule midweek cleans for stayovers.
  • Update Front Desk Housekeeping daily worksheet.
  • Inform and collaborate with the Maintenance Department regarding maintenance concerns.
  • Report status to the front desk and check On-Demand Housekeeping (ODH).
  • Inspect cleaned areas to ensure standards are met.
  • Investigate complaints regarding housekeeping service and take corrective action.
  • Use active listening techniques to de-escalate irate guests.
  • Ensure lost and found items are properly tagged, reported, and secured.
  • Complete required housekeeping paperwork.
  • Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by supervisors.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or G.E.D.; or one to three months of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • One year of work-related experience (preferred).
