About the role
The Electricians are hiring a Residential Wireman to join our residential service division. This role is for an experienced electrician who can handle service-based residential electrical work independently, communicate well with homeowners, and lead an apprentice in the field.
Responsibilities
- Perform residential service calls, repairs, upgrades, and installations.
- Complete panel swaps, subpanel installs, breaker replacements, service upgrades, and related work as allowed by license and local code.
- Install and replace lighting, ceiling fans, switches, outlets, dimmers, GFCIs, AFCIs, smoke detectors, and other residential electrical components.
- Troubleshoot electrical issues in occupied homes, including power loss, nuisance tripping, faulty circuits, lighting problems, and unsafe wiring conditions.
- Run new circuits for appliances, equipment, remodels, garages, basements, outdoor spaces, EV chargers, and similar residential needs.
- Lead, train, and supervise an apprentice on job sites.
- Ensure work is completed safely, neatly, and in compliance with current electrical code and company standards.
- Communicate clearly with homeowners regarding findings, work performed, and any recommended repairs or upgrades.
- Maintain organized materials, tools, vehicle stock, and job documentation.
- Cook up with the service manager on job progress, material needs, scheduling issues, and change orders.
- Respect customers’ homes by keeping work areas clean and minimizing disruption.
- Follow all company safety procedures and use proper PPE.
Requirements
- Current Residential Wireman license or equivalent electrical license required by state/local jurisdiction.
- Residential electrical service experience.
- Ability to complete common service tasks with limited supervision.
- Experience with panel swaps, lighting installations, troubleshooting, and circuit additions.
- Ability to read basic electrical drawings, panel schedules, labels, and equipment specifications.
- Working knowledge of the National Electrical Code and local code requirements.
- Valid driver’s license and clean/reliable driving record.
- Ability to pass required background check and/or drug screening, if applicable.
- Must have basic hand tools required for residential electrical service work.
- Experience leading or training apprentices.
- Experience with service upgrades, generator interlocks, EV chargers, smart home devices, recessed lighting, and remodel wiring.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Familiarity with service software, mobile dispatching, or digital job documentation.
- OSHA 10 or similar safety training.
- Dependable, punctual, and organized.
- Strong troubleshooting ability.
- Clean workmanship.
- Good communication with customers and coworkers.
- Able to make sound field decisions without cutting corners.
- Comfortable working in attics, crawlspaces, basements, garages, and occupied homes.
- Able to manage an apprentice productively instead of just bringing them along.
- Takes pride in code-compliant, professional work.
- Able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Able to climb ladders and work from heights.
- Able to work in confined spaces, attics, crawlspaces, and varying temperatures.
- Able to stand, bend, kneel, pull wire, and use power tools throughout the workday.

Schedule
Full-time position. Overtime or occasional on-call work may be required depending on service demand.
Pay
Pay range: $24-$34, depending on experience, license level, and ability.
