As a Residential Technician, you will work as part of a high-functioning care team to help save patients’ lives.
Responsibilities
- Work in the nurse’s station to answer questions and direct clients.
- Perform general office work and accurately describe company services to new clients.
- Accompany clients outside for cigarette breaks.
- Prepare bedrooms for new admissions, including dressing beds, vacuuming, cleaning hard surfaces, and ensuring proper accommodations (alarm clock, sound machine, fan, hamper, etc.).
- Assist the kitchen with washing, drying, and putting away dishes.
- Tidy the dining area after meals, including wiping tables and chairs, sweeping, mopping, and emptying trash.
- Check client bathrooms for cleanliness.
- Maintain cleanliness and presentation of day rooms by removing dishes/trash, folding blankets, sanitizing surfaces, etc.
- Assist housekeeping staff with laundry.
- Maintain professional boundaries and interact appropriately with clients.
- Assist in the admission process (UA collection, searching property, BA testing, sanitation, etc.).
- Thoroughly search individuals’ belongings upon admission and properly dispose of forbidden items; log and store belongings.
- Pass, log, and dispose of medications; demonstrate proper handwashing and glove use.
- Administer medication as ordered by the physician.
- Complete hourly rounds for each client and assess the environment for increased checks.
- Check vitals for individuals.
- Audit and correct EHR records.
- Assist with Omnicell—witnessing the removal of scheduled medications.
- Assist with the discharge process and complete all necessary documentation.
- Admit and assist with discharging individuals into Omnicell/Omniview.
- Complete weekly/monthly medical report forms.
- Keep medication rooms and carts cleaned, stocked, and organized.
- Participate in facility quality improvement initiatives.
- Attend and participate in staff meetings.
- Support organizational and departmental philosophies, goals, and objectives.
- Perform any other related tasks as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Certified Residential Medication Aide (CRMA), if required by State.
- Current CPR and First Aid certifications.
- Ability to complete training in Medication Administration, CPR, First Aid, and behavior intervention techniques.
- Good written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to perform general household upkeep and maintenance.
- Strong communication and organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Working knowledge of computer programs (Microsoft Word, Excel, email) and office machines (printer, fax, multi-line phone).
- Previous experience with EHR systems.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Ability to meet deadlines.
- Satisfactory references from employers and/or professional peers.
- Satisfactory criminal background check.
- Satisfactory drug screen.
