Residential Supervisor

San Pasqual Academy is located on a beautiful 238-acre campus in rural San Pasqual Valley, equipped with all the amenities of a private high school, including classrooms, an auditorium, gym, and cafeteria. On-grounds sports and activities include basketball, softball, and football. Our unique campus features residential staff and house parents serving as surrogate parents who mentor and tutor students, teach age-appropriate independent living skills, create opportunities to explore new interests, encourage participation in sports and recreation, assist in the exploration of career and job opportunities, and promote family living skills.

About the role

As a Senior Child Care Worker, you will provide safety and around-the-clock in-person supervision of youth. You will support the physical, personal, and health needs of each student through individual counseling and behavioral, social, physical, and educational skill development. You will foster a supportive atmosphere, monitor and document student behaviors and activities, participate in and assist with educational, social, athletic, and recreational activities, and collaborate with other professional staff to meet the goals of each student’s treatment plan.

Responsibilities

• Provide safety and around-the-clock in-person supervision of youth
• Support the physical, personal, and health needs of each student through individual counseling and skill development
• Create and maintain a supportive atmosphere for students
• Monitor and document student behaviors and activities
• Participate in and assist with educational, social, athletic, and recreational activities
• Collaborate with professional staff to establish and meet the goals of each student’s treatment plan

Requirements

• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent
• Have 1 year of experience working with youth in a similar position or at least 60 hours of college education in a directly related field of study
• Supervisory experience preferred
• Be at least 21 years of age
• Able to pass a criminal background check, drug screen, physical, and TB test
• Able to pass a search of the child abuse central registry

Pay

Starting at $26.40 an hour.
