Residential Supervisor

Primary responsibility is the daily management of a residential living environment that promotes the learning of skills for emotional, mental, and physical health, as specified in each youth’s Individual Treatment Plan and the OHU Residential Program Plan.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises a team of youth care workers in day-to-day training, modeling, and skill-building for assigned youth.
  • Supervises staff as they teach and participate in individual and group instruction in daily living, recreational activities, social skills, and independent living skills per each youth’s Individual Treatment Plan and the OHU Residential Program Plan.
  • Participates in continual training and maintains certification in Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI), Attachment, Self-Regulation and Competency (ARC), and all other required training.
  • Supervises staff in following the OHU Residential Program Plan, including daily schedule, trauma-informed care, and mental health treatment of youth in residential care.
  • Demonstrates commitment to quality improvement practices to enhance service delivery for residents.
  • Participates in a weekly Clinical Team Meeting for the assigned residential home.
  • Facilitates staff team meetings at the residential home.
  • Completes Behavior Management Plans for all youth in the residential home.
  • Participates in Individual Treatment Team Meetings and Reviews, Additional Staffing, Transition, and Discharge Staffing.
  • Attends assigned training, seminars, and conferences.
  • Completes all required documentation accurately and timely; approves all Medicaid Interventions of supervised youth care staff.
  • Completes performance evaluations within specified time frames.
  • Provides supervision to youth care staff, including documentation of supervision.
  • Schedules all youth care shifts, managing leave, vacation, and minimizing overtime.
  • Manages an OHU credit card, coding, and submitting receipts.
  • Performs on-call duties as assigned.
  • Maintains confidentiality of all information concerning OHU residents and the program.

Requirements

  • BA/BS degree in a related and/or approved field and eligible for MHP status OR 5 years of residential or other approved mental health experience (in absence of BA/BS degree).
  • 5 years of residential or other approved mental health experience.
  • Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record with OHU-required levels of auto insurance coverage.
  • DCFS background check and approval to transport youth.
  • Physically able to complete Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) restraint training.
