About the role

Pro-Tech Air Conditioning & Plumbing Service, a Southern Home Services Company, is seeking a dynamic Service Plumber to join a thriving business that values work-life balance and cares about its employees.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose problems and failures in plumbing systems and equipment
  • Determine whether repairs or replacements are needed for customers
  • Install and assemble plumbing systems and equipment, including valves, pipe fittings, and pipes
  • Perform installation, maintenance, and repairs on water and gas systems, pipes, fittings, and components
  • Test for leaks using compressed air and/or water to ensure functionality and safety
  • Repair and maintain plumbing systems by replacing washers, mending burst pipes, and clearing clogged drains
  • Manage the inventory of plumbing supplies in the vehicle, including checking stock, placing orders, and verifying receipts
  • Keep equipment and tools operational by following manufacturer’s instructions and established procedures
  • Maintain safety equipment
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience in plumbing installation, maintenance, and repair of residential and commercial systems
  • Driver’s License: Valid driver's license with a clean driving record and 3 years of driving experience
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in reading blueprints, technical drawings, and job specifications; expertise in installing, maintaining, and repairing water, gas, and sewage systems; familiarity with local and state plumbing codes and regulations; experience with various tools and equipment, such as pipe cutters, threaders, and soldering tools
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to diagnose complex plumbing issues and recommend effective solutions
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with customers, team members, and supervisors
  • Physical Fitness: Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy materials, working in confined spaces, and handling tools for extended periods
  • Safety-Oriented: In-depth knowledge of safety protocols and a commitment to maintaining a safe work environment
  • Customer Service: Proven track record of delivering excellent customer service, with a focus on professionalism and customer satisfaction
  • Technology Skills: Basic knowledge of mobile apps and work management software to track tasks and report on job progress
  • Leadership & Teamwork: Ability to lead apprentices, work well within a team, and coordinate with other trades on larger projects
  • Availability: Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and emergency calls, as needed

Physical Requirements

  • Lifting 50 pounds regularly and up to 100 pounds occasionally
  • Climbing ladders, accessing attics, navigating tight spaces, driving, entering crawlspaces, pushing, carrying, pulling, using hand tools, and performing fine detail work
  • Regularly stoop, kneel, bend, and crouch
  • Regular exposure to extreme temperatures both indoors and outdoors, such as heat or cold, and adverse weather conditions such as wind, rain, ice or snow
