About the Role

As a Residential Rehab Educator/Counselor, you will assist clients experiencing behavioral health issues with goal setting and achievement, activities of daily living, engagement in meaningful activities, socialization, transportation and administration of medication. You will implement treatment plans that help clients reach their goals and manage symptoms. You will also help clients develop independence and enhance their quality of life.

Responsibilities

  • Aid clients in setting and achieving goals
  • Support clients in managing daily living tasks
  • Incorporate clients into meaningful activities
  • Facilitate social interactions and transportation
  • Administer prescribed medications
  • Implement and monitor treatment plans
  • Encourage client independence and improve quality of life

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Coursework in psychology, human services, social work, or health sciences, preferably towards an Associates or Bachelor's degree
  • Experience working in the health and human services field or related education/training
  • Patient and understanding, with the ability to interact with individuals with disabilities
  • Dependable, flexible, and willing to help others
  • Computer proficiency and ability to learn an electronic health record system
  • Valid driver’s license and safe driving record, with access to a personal vehicle required at some sites
  • CPR, First Aid, and MAP certifications required
