About the Role

Aspire Health and Community Services seeks Relief Staff to fill in as needed for regular staff absences, vacations, leaves, or unfilled positions in our residential group homes. As a Residential Rehab Educator/Counselor, you will assist clients experiencing chronic behavioral health issues with activities of daily living, helping them develop independence and improve their quality of life.

After an initial training period working at several homes, you may choose available shifts based on your schedule and our current needs. This is a great opportunity to gain exposure and experience in the mental health field.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor client activities in a residential group home setting
  • Assist with grocery shopping, household chores, cooking, and personal care
  • Help clients manage finances and transport them to appointments or community events
  • De-escalate behavioral issues and administer medication as needed
  • Engage clients in meaningful activities within the home and encourage positive behaviors
  • Support clients in meeting individual service plan goals set by a team of medical professionals

Requirements

  • High School diploma (some college preferred)
  • Interest and/or coursework in Psychology, human services, healthcare, or related field
  • Some experience in the mental health care field is preferred
  • Current valid driver’s license in good standing with 1–3 years of driving experience
  • Good communication skills, empathy, and ability to work as part of a team
  • Willingness to attend all mandatory trainings (see Training section)
  • Must pick up at least one shift every 30 days to remain on the Relief Staff list

Training

This position requires mandatory attendance in the following trainings over a 6-month period:

  • Initial New Hire Orientation with HR (Monday and Tuesday, 8:30 AM–4:00 PM)
  • First Aid/CPR (9:00 AM–3:00 PM)
  • Workplace Safety (9:00 AM–4:00 PM)
  • MAP (9:00 AM–5:00 PM or 5:00 PM–8:00 PM; recertification required)
  • Special ACCS Team Orientation (9:00 AM–3:00 PM)
  • Vitals (10:00 AM–12:00 PM)

CPR/First Aid certification is required within 3 months of employment, and MAP certification is required within 6 months. Candidates with current CPR and MAP certifications will be given first consideration.

Pay

Relief Staff: $20.00 per hour (varied shifts). Compensation is based on candidate experience, qualifications, and certifications.

  • Varied shifts (flexible based on availability and organizational needs)
  • Locations: Quincy, Braintree, Norwell, Randolph, Weymouth, and Brockton residences
