Residential Project Architect (Kalispell)
About the Role
A&E + SMA Design is seeking a passionate Residential Project Architect to join our multidisciplinary team. This role focuses on high-end residential design, from concept to construction, in a collaborative environment that values creativity, sustainability, and meaningful stakeholder engagement.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and delivery of high-end residential projects, from concept sketches to construction.
- Translate client vision into innovative, functional, and beautiful design solutions.
- Oversee communication and coordination with internal teams, consultants, and contractors.
- Research and ensure compliance with building codes and regulations.
- Manage and produce presentation materials for client and agency meetings.
- Document and distribute meeting minutes while tracking project budgets, schedules, and workflow.
- Develop and manage project schedules, ensuring milestones are achieved on time and within scope.
- Attend job site meetings, issue supplemental instructions, and respond to RFIs during the Construction Administration phase.
- Use Revit and rendering tools to produce accurate and compelling drawings and visuals.
Requirements
- Master’s Degree in Architecture.
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience in architecture, with an emphasis or specialty in high-end residential design.
- Proficiency in Revit is required.
- Strong proficiency in other 3D rendering tools, such as SketchUp, Enscape, and Lumion.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to communicate within a creative team environment.
- Passion for design and architecture, with an appreciation for timeless beauty and effortless function.
- Ability to work effectively within a collaborative team environment and multidisciplinary design teams.
- Complex problem-solving and critical thinking abilities.
- Must be located in Kalispell, Missoula, or Bozeman.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen, Permanent Resident, or possess a work visa to legally work in the U.S.
Architectural licensure is preferred but not required.
