About the role

Provides culturally competent and appropriate behavioral health treatment to people served by Community Counseling Solutions (CCS). The position provides treatment in accordance with the Oregon Administrative Rules (OAR’s) and the mission and values of CCS. Supports at-risk youth in a therapeutic residential setting.

Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical services to the youth, families, and community partners to provide appropriate and timely clinical services.
  • Participate in joint case planning, and coordination with agency employees and all other community partners, families, and supports who are involved in the youth’s care.
  • Act as a liaison between residents and other agencies.
  • Complete all paperwork in a way that is professional, clinically sound and timely as prescribed by the OAR’s and other pertinent guidelines.
  • Participate in treatment team meetings and work collaboratively with other residential staff in making clinical decisions on all relevant aspects of customer care.
  • Participate in group and individual supervision sessions.
  • Assist other clinicians in the facilitations of groups when requested.
  • Attend trainings, meetings, conferences, etc. as directed by administration and use the information gathered to benefit the agency and the customers.
  • Utilize agency software/computer systems to prepare current client records of treatment and reports as necessary and required.
  • Transport youth as required.
  • Provide behavioral health, prevention and information to various interest groups.
  • Report all abuse to appropriate legal office, complete all necessary paperwork and investigations, and develop safety plans as required.
  • Participate in seclusion and restraint practices, as necessary.

Requirements

  • A master’s degree from an accredited college in social work, psychology or other human service-related field is required.
  • MHS II - Bachelor's with variance - An active variance from the State (within 4 months of hire).
  • Meets qualifications for a QMHA and Be enrolled in a graduate program within 4 months of hire that will result in a degree in psychology, social work, or related field of behavioral science and or MHS III - Master's degree from an accredited college in social work, psychology or other human service related field is required.
  • MHS IV - Licensed Professional (LPC, LCSW, LMFT).
  • Must have or be able to obtain certification from the Department of Human Services as a Certified Mental Health Investigator.
  • Possess, or have the ability to acquire, knowledge of symptoms and challenges faced by people with mental illness and addictions.
  • Knowledge of relevant OAR’s.
  • Effective communication both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to work independently and complete all designated tasks and/or assignments in a thorough and timely fashion.
  • Ability to professionally work with the public and the ability to coordinate services across various agencies and community groups.
  • Knowledge, or the ability to acquire knowledge, about the recovery model.
  • Ability to represent the interest of the customer and the agency in a favorable light in the community.
  • Ability to work well with teams and other groups of individuals.
  • Computer literacy and ability to type and utilize word processing and other software programs/systems.
  • The position requires the handling of highly confidential information.
  • Adherence to rules and laws pertaining to client confidentiality.
  • Criminal background checks must pass all criminal history check requirements as required by ORS 181.536-181.537 and in accordance with OAR 410-007-0200 through 410-007-0380.
  • Pre-Hire Drug Screen Required.
  • Personal Auto Insurance must hold a valid driver’s license as well as personal auto insurance for privately owned Vehicles utilized for CCS business such as client service purposes, travel between business offices and the community, to attend required meetings and trainings.
  • Must show proof of $300,000 or more liability coverage for bodily injury and $100,000 or more in property damage and maintain said level of coverage for the duration of employment at CCS.
  • Physical Demands while performing the essential duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use office automation including computer and phone systems that require find manipulation, grasping, typing and reaching.
  • The employee is also regularly required to sit; talk and hear; use hands and fingers and handle, smell or feel.
  • The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms; stoop; kneel and/or squat when adjusting equipment or retrieving supplies.
  • The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, distance vision and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Work is performed in a residential environment as well as in the community.
  • The noise level in the office environment is usually moderate but occasionally one may be exposed to loud noises.
  • The noise in the community is often difficult to predict.
  • Sometimes individuals in this position may be required to drive long distances routinely as a part of their regular job duties.
  • Occasional out of area travel and overnight stays will be required for attendance at meetings and trainings.
  • Handicap access may not be available at all places where this position must go.
  • There are some situations where this position may be required to respond to environment outside of the facility where a customer is in crisis.
  • This position requires the ability to work with a potential hostile or unsafe customers who may be at risk of harming self or others.
  • This position exposes the employee to the everyday risks or discomforts which require normal safety precautions typical of such places as a residential setting, requiring a high level of awareness of self and surroundings, awareness of safety protocols, and standards.
  • This position is required to dress in a manner that is safe and appropriate for a residential psychiatric facility.
  • At times it is appropriate to remove loose clothing, jewelry, or other items that are not securely attached.
  • Additionally, individuals should ensure hair is secured in a safe manner to reduce the risk of harm to self.

Pay

QMHP/MHS II (Non-Exempt) - B09 ($27.55 - $40.58 per hour, depending on experience) MHS III Master Level/QMHP - B11 ($68,200 - $102,300 annually, depending on experience) MHS IV Licensed Therapist (LCSW or LPC) - B12 ($74,900 - $112,700 annually, depending on experience)
