Residential Market Growth Executive
About the role
This company is creating a new Residential Market Growth Executive role to rebuild residential lead volume through community relationships rather than paid advertising. You won't be closing sales — the company's existing residential specialists handle in-home appointments once a lead comes in. Instead, you'll build the pipeline: identifying the neighborhoods and communities that fit the company's ideal customer, becoming a trusted, familiar face there, and creating loyalty and referral programs that turn those relationships into a steady, recurring stream of qualified leads. You'll split your time between fieldwork and supporting the in-house marketing team, reporting to the General Manager with a dotted line to the Director of Marketing.
A bit about us: A well-established, 50+ year old home services company based in the Metro Detroit area, part of a growing, private equity-backed platform of mechanical and electrical service companies expanding across the Midwest. The company combines the trust of a local, founder-rooted business with the resources and growth trajectory of a scaling regional platform, and is investing in a brand-new community-driven approach to growth.
Why join us? Build your own schedule — this role is measured on results, not hours at a desk. Genuine ownership of a brand-new lead-generation strategy with executive-level visibility. Flexible compensation — choose the structure that fits your goals, from high-upside commission to a stable base with bonus. Backed by a multi-state, private equity-supported platform investing in growth and marketing. Clear path to a sales and marketing leadership role as the territory grows. Work alongside an in-house marketing team, not in a silo.
Responsibilities
- Use the company's ideal customer profile (home age, size, subdivision) to identify the neighborhoods and communities most likely to generate strong leads.
- Map homeowner associations, community groups, and other local organizations in target areas, and build genuine relationships with board members and organizers.
- Design and run loyalty and referral programs (for example, a discount on a yearly maintenance agreement, a free lifetime diagnostic check, or a credit toward a system replacement) that convert community relationships into recurring leads.
- Represent the company at community events, sponsorships, and gatherings, including evenings and weekends, to build visibility and trust in target neighborhoods.
- Track which programs, partnerships, and events are actually generating leads, and double down on what's working.
- Support the Director of Marketing roughly one day a week on local social content, branding, and campaigns that reinforce the community-building strategy.
- Hand off qualified leads to the residential sales team in a way that sets them up to close, without getting pulled into running the appointments yourself.
- Report regularly to the General Manager and Chief Commercial Officer on lead volume, program performance, and community relationship progress.
Requirements
- A marketing, community relations, or similarly people-facing background — backgrounds in education or real estate have translated well into this kind of role.
- Genuine local roots or the ability to quickly build real credibility and trust in the community.
- Strong relationship-building and networking instincts — comfortable initiating conversations with strangers, boards, and organizers.
- Comfort with a flexible, unstructured schedule that includes evenings and weekend events, measured on results rather than hours.
Qualifications
- Experience designing or running a loyalty, referral, or community partnership program from scratch.
- Existing relationships with homeowner associations, community organizations, or local groups in the Southeast Michigan market.
- Comfort supporting basic marketing/content efforts alongside a marketing team.
- Interest in growing into a broader sales and marketing leadership role over time.
Pay
$50,000 - $95,000 per year, with uncapped commission potential.
Schedule
Flexible, unstructured schedule that includes evenings and weekend events; performance is measured on results rather than hours worked.
