About the role
The Residential Manager at The Arc Eastern Connecticut oversees programs ensuring they are person-centered and inclusive. They supervise and train staff, ensuring compliance with policies and regulations.
Responsibilities
- Ensures an environment that promotes personal growth and empowerment for residents.
- Oversees quality resident care, medical, and programmatic activities.
- Prepares, implements, and maintains resident programs based on individual plans.
- Maintains accurate and compliant resident files according to agency policy and licensing regulations.
- Communicates with day programs, parents/guardians, DDS, and other agencies as necessary.
- Maintains compliance with DDS Licensing Regulation and agency policies.
- Interviews, trains, supervises, and disciplines Direct Support Professionals.
- Maintains certifications in CPR and Medication Administration, and monitors medication administration.
- Implements and follows behavior support plans, including restraint components.
- Drives the agency vehicle and coordinates maintenance of agency property.
- Coordinates with other managers for peer mentoring and quality assurance.
- Available by mobile phone and attends staff meetings, management meetings, and in-service meetings as required.
- Develops and maintains positive relationships with participants, their families, and providers.
- Responds to participant, family, and provider needs in a timely and professional manner.
- Demonstrates a positive work ethic and advocates for participants' rights.
- Maintains a mature and positive attitude when interacting with program participants, staff, families, the public, and outside representatives.
- Works cooperatively with all departments and carries out job responsibilities professionally.
- Maintains attendance and confidentiality of records, conversations, and correspondence.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Bachelor's or Associate degree preferred.
- Minimum of two years' supervisory experience in health/human service field.
- Minimum of three years' experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities and autism.
- Valid driver’s license required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
Skills

- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
