Residential Loan Closer

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare, review, and finalize closing documents for residential mortgage loans, including purchase and refinance transactions (conventional and portfolio loans).
• Cook up loan closings with borrowers, title companies, lenders and internal teams to ensure timely execution.
• Prepare, review, and balance closing disclosures and settlement statements in accordance with TRID requirements.
• Review loan files to confirm all prior-to-closing conditions and approval requirements have been satisfied.
• Ensure all loan documentation is accurate, complete, and consistent with approved terms prior to closing.
• Maintain compliance with internal policies, investor guidelines, and applicable federal and state regulations including TRID and RESPA.
• Identify and resolve documentation and closing issues in collaboration with internal and external partners. Collaborate with borrowers, title companies, lenders, and other internal teams to resolve issues and meet closing timelines.
• Maintain complete and organized loan files in accordance with record retention and audit standards.
• Provide exceptional service to internal and external customers throughout the closing process.

Qualifications

• 2-5 years of experience in loan closing or mortgage lending.
• Strong knowledge of mortgage closing documents and lending regulations.
• High attention to detail with strong organizational skills.
• Able to manage multiple loan files and deadlines simultaneously.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Proficiency with loan origination systems (e.g., Encompass) and standard office software.
• Associate’s degree or equivalent work experience; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
