Job Summary

We are currently seeking skilled and team-oriented applicants for the following position: Residential Life Coordinator. The Residential Life Coordinator (RLC) role is a full-time, live-in position responsible for the total administration and operation of a residential community. RLCs are expected to foster welcoming and vibrant communities that nurture personal growth, promote student belonging, and enhance the student experience. RLCs do this through staff and student development, resident outreach, community building, attention to facilities, and administrative organization.

About the Role

The Residential Life Coordinator (RLC) role is a full-time, live-in position responsible for the total administration and operation of a residential community. RLCs are expected to foster welcoming and vibrant communities that nurture personal growth, promote student belonging, and enhance the student experience. RLCs do this through staff and student development, resident outreach, community building, attention to facilities, and administrative organization.

Responsibilities

  • Foster welcoming and vibrant communities that nurture personal growth, promote student belonging, and enhance the student experience.
  • Develop and implement policies, procedures, and programs to support the residential community.
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the residential community, including maintenance, safety, and security.
  • Provide guidance and support to residents, including addressing concerns and providing resources.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure a cohesive and supportive campus environment.
  • Conduct regular meetings with resident advisors and conduct training sessions.
  • Assist with special events and activities to engage the residential community.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in a related field such as psychology, sociology, education, or a related area.
  • At least two years of experience in a residential setting, preferably in a college or university environment.
  • Experience working with diverse populations and a demonstrated ability to build and maintain positive relationships with students, staff, and faculty.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to work effectively with diverse groups of people.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Qualifications

  • Experience in student affairs or related field.
  • Knowledge of student development theories and practices.
  • Experience with conflict resolution and mediation.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize responsibilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Skills

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
  • Experience with student housing software and systems.

Pay

The salary for this position is $42,024 (minimum) up to $45,000.
