Residential Escrow Closer
Position Overview
Security Title, a division of Fidelity National Title, LLC, is seeking an experienced Escrow Closer to join their dynamic team. This role is perfect for someone who is eager to achieve success by providing superior service and quality.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Prepares Closing Disclosure & Settlement statements with all accurate prorations/adjustments including but not limited to real estate taxes, sewer, water, trash, subdivision or HOA fees, payoff of any liens as evidenced by title search.
- The closer must comply with all terms of the real estate contract and/or amendments.
- Determines escrow requirements by reviewing and clarifying buyer, seller, and lender instructions.
- Obtains clear title by ordering title reports, resolving title defects, satisfying existing liens and encumbrances against property or principals.
- Completes the closing transaction documents by assembling documents, reviewing papers with parties, explaining provision and procedures, checking documents for completeness & accuracy.
- Once the file is closed, the closer is responsible for satisfying all funding requirements prior to depositing and disbursing the funds.
- Complies with regulatory requirements by adhering and enforcing requirements.
- Other job responsibilities as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- Missouri Department of Insurance license or ability to meet the requirements for Missouri Department of Insurance licensing is required.
- Notary Public is required or ability to meet the requirements.
- Must have basic computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Must meet ongoing Continuing Education requirements.
- Closer must have excellent customer service skills with both internal and external customers.
Preferred Experience
- Ability to work independently and/or within a team structure.
- Positive, clear communication skills and strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a willingness to adapt quickly.
- Prior knowledge of SoftPro software, a plus.
- Prior knowledge and experience with real estate transaction closings and title industry is helpful but not required.
- Applicants with portable book of business will be given preference for position.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
This position has the potential to earn compensation starting from $50,000.00 and up depending on location and job-related factors such as skillset and experience. Actual rate may vary within the range provided, depending on a number of factors, including skillset, experience and location.
