About the role
ReVireo is an energy efficiency and green building services company providing consulting, inspection, and certification services to various stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Conduct onsite inspections and tests to assess the energy efficiency of new homes.
- Collect both quantitative data (e.g., HVAC duct leakage, whole-house envelope leakage) and qualitative data (e.g., construction materials, photos).
- Operate personal vehicle for transportation to assigned construction sites.
- Learn and utilize construction techniques, building science, energy efficiency terminology, and communication skills.
- Utilize inspection equipment and testing procedures, including preparing units for inspection and diagnosing test-related issues.
Requirements
- Own vehicle, driver’s license, and car insurance.
- Willingness to use own vehicle for work (compensated at IRS standard mileage rate).
- Willingness to drive long distances (occasionally a site may be 2+ hours away).
- Willingness to transport ReVireo’s inspection equipment to inspections.
- Comfortable with using a tablet, Microsoft Office, a cell phone, and basic data entry.
- Ability to lift and carry at least 40 pounds.
- Comfortable on a ladder and standing/walking for extended periods.
- Works well independently and manages time efficiently.
- Enjoys meeting new people and developing relationships with clients on site.
Qualifications
- An Associate degree or equivalent is preferred.
- A RESNET Rating Field Inspector (RFI) or Home Energy Rating System (HERS) Rater is preferred, but ReVireo will provide training if not.
- Training from Building Performance Institute (BPI) is preferred if not RESNET certified.
- Experience in building construction, particularly residential construction, HVAC systems, reading and interpreting architectural and mechanical plans/drawings, and energy efficiency is preferred (but not required).
- The position requires a Home Energy Rating Systems Rater (HERS) certification, which ReVireo will provide training for if not already obtained.
Pay and Benefits
- Salary starting at a minimum of $60,000 per year, commensurate with experience, credentials, and qualifications – can be higher based on these factors; re-evaluated annually based on performance.
