About the role

UCP Heartland is seeking compassionate and committed Residential DSPs (Direct Care Professionals) for the following shift. UCP Heartland offers a positive, team-driven work environment.

Schedule

• Location: Oakville
• Days: Sunday through Thursday
• Hours: 7AM–3PM
• Weekly hours: 40 hours
• Shift type: Awake shifts

Pay

$21.00/hour

Responsibilities

• Provide physical assistance with daily tasks
• Assist with personal hygiene and facilitate fun activities
• Follow medical orders and administer medications
• Assist with ADLs (Activities of Daily Living)
• Lift and transfer clients (including ceiling lifts, repositioning in wheelchair, etc.)
• Provide adaptive transportation
• Provide choices to clients for their daily activities to provide entertainment and community outings

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent (GED)
• Valid driver's license
• Clean driving record
• Successfully complete and maintain assigned driver's training
• Minimum of one weekend shift per weekend
• Reliable transportation
• 5–7 days of mandatory training at the corporate office (Monday through Friday, 8:45 AM–4:15 PM; training is paid)

Qualifications

• Experience supporting individuals with disabilities or in a customer service field
• Ability to take direction and work with minimal supervision
• Ability to consistently work in a professional, cooperative manner with all agency clients and personnel
• Ability to interact with clients' families
• Good written and oral communication skills
• Computer proficiency
