At The Salvation Army, Developmental Disabilities Program (DDP), our Residential Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) are the heart of our mission. You won’t just be providing care; you’ll be an advocate, a mentor, and a friend. Whether you’re helping someone with their daily routine or exploring local community activities together, your presence helps individuals with developmental disabilities live their lives to the fullest.

Responsibilities

• Support individuals with intellectual or physical disabilities in their daily routines.
• Explore new interests and broaden the horizons of program participants.
• Communicate with kindness and respect when interacting with program participants, families, and staff.
• Utilize Microsoft Office (Outlook & Word) and other technologies as needed.

Qualifications

• A High School Diploma or GED.
• A valid Driver’s License and the ability to operate a standard sized van.
• The ability to obtain all necessary background clearances.
• An appreciation for The Salvation Army’s mission of service.
• Experience supporting individuals with intellectual or physical disabilities.
• A natural problem-solver with a positive, "can-do" attitude.
• Experience with Microsoft Office (Outlook & Word).
• Comfortable utilizing computers and other technologies.
