About the role

Eliada is a non-profit organization founded in 1903 that supports children and young adults through various programs including foster care, residential treatment, housing support, and vocational training. We are currently seeking dedicated Residential Counselors / Youth Mentors to join our 2nd shift team in our residential treatment program.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure student safety through active supervision, monitoring, and engagement.
  • Support students emotionally and environmentally by following individualized treatment plans.
  • Apply the agency’s crisis intervention model, including safe physical restraint techniques if necessary.
  • Attend weekly team meetings with Cottage Manager and program clinician to review student progress, group dynamics, and areas of growth.
  • Complete pre-shift planning and follow established schedules for meals, laundry, and evening routines.
  • Participate in post-shift debriefings to share updates and ensure smooth transitions.
  • Maintain required mental health and program documentation within compliance standards (training provided).
  • Communicate effectively with guardians, residential staff, and other agency professionals.
  • Build supportive relationships with students to promote self-awareness, personal growth, and lasting change.
  • Facilitate student processing sessions under the agency’s therapeutic model.
  • Safely transport students between locations using an agency vehicle, as needed.

Requirements

  • At least 21 years old.
  • Authorized to work in the US without sponsorship.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Agree to a Background Screening and Drug Test upon hire.
  • Possess a valid NC Drivers License.
