About the role
Vinfen is a nonprofit organization providing community-based services to individuals with various needs. This position is part of a residential program where you will provide support and assistance to enhance independence and quality of life.
Responsibilities
- Assist individuals in the home in becoming fully integrated into their communities, and develop and maintain friendships.
- Aid individuals in accessing community-based support and resources.
- Plan recreational and social activities to promote social inclusion and emotional well-being.
- Empower and support individuals to make choices, be self-advocates, and be fully involved in decision-making.
- Support individuals in securing, maintaining, and growing in work, volunteer, and other community engagement opportunities.
- Monitor individual funds, assess physical and emotional status, and document all relevant information.
- Perform hands-on tasks, provide transportation, and ensure home safety and maintenance.
- Communicate with interested parties, participate in training, and adhere to regulatory policies.
- Provide physical intervention and first aid in emergencies, and serve as a reporter to the Disabled Persons Protections Commission.
Qualifications
- Typical Requirements: One or more years of experience and/or training in a related function preferred.
- Preferred /Required Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
- Driving Requirements: Valid driver's license and ability to pass a driver's screening background check.
- Physical Effort: Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, crouch, climb, lift up to 25 pounds, and perform tasks of daily living.
- Specific Vision Abilities: Close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
