About the role
Vinfen is a nonprofit organization providing community-based services to individuals with mental health conditions, intellectual and developmental disabilities, brain injuries, and behavioral health challenges. The Residential Counselor position involves supporting individuals in becoming fully integrated into their communities, developing friendships, and accessing community-based support and resources.
Responsibilities
- Aid individuals in becoming fully integrated into their communities and developing friendships.
- Support individuals in accessing community-based support and resources.
- Plan recreational and social activities to promote social inclusion and emotional well-being.
- Empower and support individuals to make choices, be self-advocates, and be fully involved in decision-making.
- Support individuals in securing, maintaining, and growing in work, volunteer, and community engagement opportunities.
- Provide training and support to individuals in the home, including rehabilitative interventions, behavioral interventions, and monitoring.
- Perform hands-on tasks to facilitate support plans, provide transportation, assess physical and emotional status, monitor individual funds, maintain records, collect data, document incidents, and comply with regulatory policies.
- Communicate with interested parties and participate in training and meetings.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory policies and perform other related duties.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Experience working with people with developmental disabilities and/or brain injury strongly preferred.
- Strong time management and writing skills.
- At least 21 years old and have a valid US driver’s license for at least 6 months.
- Must be able to become CPR, First Aid certified within 2 weeks of employment and MAP certified within 150 days of employment.
- Must successfully complete Safety Care within 90 days.
- Must pass a CORI, reference, national fingerprinting, and driving record check.

Pay
The pay range for this position is USD $22.27 - USD $22.27 /Hr.
