Residential Counselor (CASAC)

About the role

A Residential Counselor (CASAC) position is available in an onsite setting in Astoria, NY. This full-time role involves working day shifts from Monday to Friday with one rotating weekend day.

Responsibilities

Requirements

• CASAC-P, CASAC T, or CASAC (Full) certification
• Organizational and communication skills for effective interaction
• Critical thinking and sound judgment skills

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in behavioral or social sciences with 1 year of experience in drug rehabilitation
• Associate's degree in behavioral or social sciences with 2 years of experience in substance abuse treatment
• High School Diploma with 3 years of paid experience in drug rehabilitation

Skills

• Experience in a multidisciplinary treatment setting
• Ability to facilitate sessions for substance use and co-occurring disorders
• Skills in crisis intervention and recovery planning
• Experience with electronic medical records systems
• Knowledge of 12-step, self-help recovery services, and motivational interviewing

Pay

$45,000-$55,000 Per Year

Mon-Fri - 07:00am-03:00pm (Day Shift)
