Residential Counselor
About the role
RiseWell Community Services is seeking a compassionate & dedicated Residential Counselor to join our team in Glen Cove, NY. In this role, you will provide supportive counseling, restorative services, and crisis intervention training in a licensed intensive community residence program providing short-term crisis and stabilization housing to people with psychiatric diagnoses.
Responsibilities
- Provide supportive counseling, restorative services, and crisis intervention training in a licensed intensive community residence program providing short-term crisis and stabilization housing to people with psychiatric diagnoses.
- Participate in the development and implementation of individualized treatment plans based on client needs.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care and support for clients.
- Conduct assessments and evaluations to monitor client progress and adjust treatment plans accordingly.
- Engage in ongoing education and training related to mental health and crisis intervention.
- Ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements related to the program.
Requirements
- A High School Diploma and 1 year of experience working in a mental health setting OR a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services.
- A Clean, valid NY State Driver’s License.
- Fingerprinting, criminal record check, and approval from the NYS Office of Mental Health.
