Residential Counselor

About the role

River’s Edge Group Home is a therapeutic group home located in Thompson, CT, near the JRI’s Susan Wayne Center of Excellence. The program serves adolescent girls aged 13 – 20 who often face concurrent behavioral, mental health, and cognitive challenges. We are seeking Residential Counselors to support the development and growth of young adults who have experienced significant emotional challenges.

Responsibilities

• Perform direct care responsibilities within the group home.
• Direct supervision of students within the group home while maintaining safety and security procedures as outlined by agency and program policy and procedures.
• Lead by example and role model appropriate professional behavior within a group home setting.
• Handle special projects as assigned by the Administrative Team or designee.

Requirements

• Must be 21 years or older.
• Must have a High School Diploma. Some college education preferred.
• Experience in a group home, residential program, or mental health facility preferred.
• Valid Drivers License.

Pay and Schedule

The pay range for this position is $19.00 to $25.00 per hour. The actual compensation may vary based on experience, education, licensure, certifications, and qualifications. Overtime may be required due to the nature of the work and the youth served.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid Drivers License.
