About the role

RiseWell Community Services is seeking a compassionate & dedicated Residential Counselor to join our team in Massapequa, NY.

Responsibilities

  • Provide supportive counseling, restorative services, and crisis intervention training in a licensed intensive community residence program providing short-term crisis and stabilization housing to people with psychiatric diagnoses.
  • Assist participants with an array of services aimed at supporting their recovery and improving their quality of life, including medication monitoring, skill-building development, symptom management, socialization, transportation training, connections to psychiatric and medical services, and more.

Requirements

  • A High School Diploma and 1 year of experience working in a mental health setting OR a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services.
  • A Clean valid NY State Driver’s License.
  • Fingerprinting, criminal record check, approval from NYS Office of Mental Health.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma and 1 year of experience working in a mental health setting OR a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services.

Skills

  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Knowledge of mental health disorders and treatment options
  • Experience with crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques

Pay

  • Competitive salary based on experience and qualifications

Schedule

  • Tuesday: 8 AM-4 PM
  • Wednesday: 2 PM-10 PM
  • Thursday: 2 PM-10 PM
  • Friday: 10 AM-6 PM
  • Saturday: 2 PM-10 PM
