About the role
Laradon fosters a collaborative, team environment; working on-site in Denver, CO at 5100 Lincoln St. We are seeking Residential Counselors to support the Calabrese Youth Center (CYC).
Responsibilities
- Plan and implement daily activity schedule.
- Supervise and assist the children/youth with medications.
- Train, and assist as necessary, children/youth in shopping, cleaning, money management, hobbies, personal hygiene, etc.
- Provide direct counseling and training services to children/youth.
- Ensure the health and welfare of children/youth and report concerns and progress to program manager.
- Facilitate groups on a daily basis (anger management, self-esteem, etc.).
- Oversee 24-hour supervision to children/youth.
- Ensure facilities are clean, safe and orderly.
- Attend Youth Center staff meetings.
- Implement behavior programs.
- Assist with recreational activities.
- Perform monthly safety/fire drills.
- Perform Safety Care techniques, as needed.
- Train children/youth in use of community resources (RTD, laundromat, banks, restaurants, etc.).
- Execute duties according to rules and regulations of licensing agencies.
- Drive participants as necessary for program needs.
- Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
Requirements
- Valid driving license, good driving record, and reliable transportation, preferred.
- Be at least 21 years of age.
- Able to communicate well with children/youth, staff and parents.
- Two years of college education, or high school diploma/GED plus one year of experience in human services field.
Qualifications
- Physical requirements include the ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force; physical condition to enable walking, standing, sitting, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling; stamina to be on feet and active for full work days.
- Must frequently lift or move objects weighing up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift or move objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Must be able to successfully pass Safety Care training and preemployment physical examination.

Pay
$24.00/hr.-$28.12/hr. ($0.50 weekend differential)
Schedule
3, 12 hour shifts Sat-Mon 7am-7pm
