About the Role

As a Residential Counselor at the Walden Street School, you will work in a residential treatment setting for adolescents specializing in trauma-informed care. The school provides 24-hour comprehensive care, including an on-site school, full clinical and nursing staff, and direct care staff. You will convey your passion for helping others and bring an energetic, positive approach while supporting students.

Multiple schedule options are available to accommodate work-life balance, including three, four, and five-day work weeks.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and facilitate enriching daily activities for students, such as arts and crafts, recreational activities, and offsite field trips.
  • Create a safe and therapeutic community by supporting students in developing and role-modeling effective coping strategies.
  • Help students build life skills, including cooking, banking, vocational skills, and more, to foster competence and self-worth.
  • Support students in developing a sense of self and the skills needed for future success.
  • Provide physical interventions and verbal de-escalations to maintain a safe therapeutic environment.
  • Transport students as required.

Requirements

  • Must be 21 years of age.
  • Maintain a valid driver’s license, as transporting students is required.
  • Available to work evenings, holidays, and weekend shifts as required.
  • Background and driving record checks will be performed.

Pay

The pay range for this position is $19.00 to $25.00 per hour. The listed range reflects what we reasonably and in good faith expect to pay for this role at the time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on experience, education, licensure, certifications, and qualifications. Overtime may be mandated due to the nature of the work.
