Responsibilities
The Cook I is responsible for:
- Preparing center meals, establishing menu, and determining quantities of food needed
- Planning and coordinating procedures necessary for day-to-day operations of center dining facility
- Efficient and timely arrangement, servicing, and clean-up of meals
- Maintaining complete inventory file on food and equipment, ensuring minimum waste through efficient storage, inventory, and food utilization
- Maintaining strict safety and sanitation codes and procedures
- Submitting weekly activity and other reports as assigned
Qualifications
To be qualified, you should have:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Two or more years’ food preparation training and related work experience preferred
- ServSafe food safety certification, or ability to obtain
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record preferred

Job Corps is the largest nationwide residential career training program in the country and has been operating for more than 60 years. The program helps eligible young people ages 16 through 24 complete their high school education, trains them for meaningful careers, and assists them with obtaining employment.
