This position is located at the Arkansas State Hospital, a 24/7 behavioral health facility in Little Rock, AR. The Department of Human Services serves Arkansans of all ages, ensuring safety in child care centers, nursing homes, and other facilities. About the role

The Residential Care Coordinator oversees the coordination of care services within a state-operated residential care facility, ensuring residents receive individualized, high-quality care through collaboration with staff, healthcare providers, and family members.

Responsibilities

  • Implement and monitor individualized care plans to meet residents' medical, emotional, and social needs.
  • Ensure residents attend medical appointments, therapy sessions, and support services.
  • Advocate for residents by addressing concerns, needs, and preferences in a timely manner.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential records of care plans, progress notes, and incident reports.
  • Ensure compliance with Arkansas state laws, Medicaid requirements, and facility policies.
  • Assist in conducting assessments and evaluations to determine resident eligibility for services.
  • Monitor and report changes in resident conditions to supervisors and healthcare providers.
  • Respond to emergency situations and behavioral crises using de-escalation strategies.
  • Collaborate with mental health professionals to develop behavior intervention plans.
  • Assist with daily operations to maintain a safe, clean, and structured living environment.
  • Participate in facility inspections, audits, and quality improvement initiatives.

Requirements

  • At least one year of experience in social services, behavioral health, healthcare, psychology, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of person-centered care, trauma-informed practices, and behavioral health services.
  • Familiarity with Arkansas state regulations, Medicaid guidelines, and facility policies regarding residential care.

Skills

  • Ability to manage multiple residents' care plans and track service progress.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping and documentation.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for working with residents, families, and teams.
  • Strong ability to mediate conflicts, de-escalate situations, and foster positive relationships.
  • Effective problem-solving and decision-making skills to address resident concerns and facility challenges.
  • Ability to assess and advocate for resident needs.
  • Ability to respond effectively to emergencies, medical incidents, or behavioral crises.

Pay

Anticipated starting salary: $35,610.02. Salary range: $35,610 - $52,703.
