About the role

We are looking for a Residential Care Associate I to join our team at The Guest House Crisis Stabilization Center in Eugene, Oregon. The Residential Care Associate I will provide caring companionship and assistance with daily tasks to clients, supporting individuals to develop appropriate daily living skills and independent activities of daily living to increase or maintain their level of functioning.

• Assist with meal preparation, clean-up, and food purchasing, while encouraging client participation
• Under the guidance of a Registered Nurse, pass medications and perform delegated medical care as prescribed by the client’s primary care provider
• Transport clients to and from the program as necessary to engage and provide treatment services
• Maintain compliance with established productivity standards for documentation of services

This position falls under the AFSCME bargaining unit. Wages, benefits, and working conditions are set in accordance with the collective bargaining agreement.

About the program

The Guest House Crisis Stabilization Center is a 10-bed, short-term, crisis residential program serving adults experiencing a mental health crisis. The program offers individual private rooms for clients, community living spaces, a larger kitchen, and is conveniently located near PeaceHealth Sacred Heart Medical Center, University District, in Eugene. ColumbiaCare Services is a qualifying employer for the Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) Program.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care services and support to help individuals develop daily living skills and independent activities of daily living
• Assist with meal preparation, clean-up, and food purchasing
• Pass medications and perform delegated medical care under the guidance of a Registered Nurse
• Transport clients to and from the program for treatment services
• Maintain compliance with documentation standards
• Successfully complete crisis de-escalation and CPR trainings, including physical, hands-on maneuvers and techniques

Requirements

• Caregiving and/or mental health experience (personal or professional) is preferred
• Dedication to the wellbeing of each resident and helping them complete their activities of daily living (ADLs) and independent activities of daily living (IADLs)
• Valid driver's license from your state of residence (or ability to obtain one within 30 days of hire) and a safe driving record
• Ability to pass a DHS criminal background check
• Must be 18 or older at the time of hire (per OAR 309-035-0135)

Physical demands

• Frequently talk, listen, use hands and fingers, reach, stand, walk, sit, bend, stoop, and climb stairs
• Lift, carry, push, and pull up to 40 pounds
• Occasionally use ladders, squat/kneel, and perform other physical tasks as applicable
• Perform physical, hands-on maneuvers and techniques for crisis de-escalation and CPR trainings, including lifting and transferring clients

Training program

With our MHACBO-accredited training program, you will earn CEUs towards applicable mental health certifications while attending required, paid training and receiving qualified clinical supervision to gain on-the-job experience. This program offers an accelerated training path towards QMHA certification.

Pay

$21.42 - $22.07 per hour, based on experience and credentials.

• Night Shift (NOC) Differential: An additional $3.00 per hour for hours worked between 10:00 PM and 8:30 AM (provided at least 2.5 hours of your shift occur within this period)
• Secure Program Differential: An additional $2.00 per hour for all hours worked in an eligible CCS secure program
• Bilingual Differential: An additional 5% pay differential for employees who meet the qualifications of the CCS Language/Bilingual Program

Friday through Monday, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM (Part Time, Day)
