Responsibilities
- Ensure safe, high-quality, patient-centered psychiatric care and trauma-informed treatment.
- Oversee medication management, therapeutic environments, and crisis intervention protocols.
- Handle recruitment, onboarding, scheduling, mentoring, and performance evaluations for RNs, LPNs, and direct care staff.
- Maintain adherence to state and federal healthcare regulations, accreditation standards (such as The Joint Commission), and safety policies regarding restraint and seclusion.
- Monitor incident reports, track clinical quality outcomes, manage department productivity, and collaborate with multidisciplinary treatment teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required.
- Current, active, and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the practicing state.
- 3 to 5 years of behavioral health nursing experience, with at least 2 years in a progressive leadership, supervisory, or charge nurse role.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certifications.
- Psychiatric-Mental Health Nursing (PMH-BC) credential preferred.
