Job Overview
- Determines eligibility based on appointing authority.
Plans, Organizes, and Directs
Directs parole counseling services statewide.
- Assigns, trains, supervises, and evaluates professional and clerical staff and their work.
- Makes recommendations on employment retention, promotion, demotion, and other human resources actions.
- Develops and enforces policies and procedures for operations and functions within the sphere of authority of parole field program.
- Reviews and approves field records and reports.
- Makes recommendations on suspension action on violators, continuance of parole, or an alternate program for problem cases.
- Prepares reports on status and progress of field work.
Liaison Work
Performs important public contact and liaison work with community resource groups, law enforcement agencies, attorneys, parolees and their families, correctional personnel, and the general public.
- Congratulates the death of an employee's spouse, child, stepchild, grandchild, parents, grandparents, siblings, stepparents, foster parents, or parents-in-law without charge to the employee's leave time.
- Assists in preparation of budget.
- Develops substantiating statistical data.
Coordination
Coordinates compliance of persons paroled under the Interstate Compact Agreement.
Other Duties
Performs other related duties as assigned.
