Liberity University is seeking remarkable faculty to teach residential Engineering coursework, in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Computer, and Industrial & Systems disciplines. For every level of degree program, there are a wide variety of courses that may fit your academic and professional experiences. Multiple positions are available. Classes are offered in a residential 16-week format. Class assignments are done in coordination with the faculty member, with no minimum number of class assignments required.
Essential Functions And Responsibilities
It is expected that a residential adjunct faculty member will model a personal commitment to the goals and values of Liberty University, engage in an active commitment to, and experience of, personal spiritual formation within a biblically-informed Christian worldview. The candidate must be committed to the evangelical standards and mission of Liberty University.
- Teach from the approved curriculum in accordance with an assigned schedule to ensure student satisfaction.
- Aid students in achieving completion of objectives and learning outcomes.
- Provide regular and timely feedback to students.
- Participate in school retention initiatives by maintaining productive conduct with students and by getting in touch with and offering assistance to absent students.
- Advise students in matters related to academics, attendance, and behaviors.
- Motivate students to actively participate in all aspects of the educational process.
- Strictly adhere to Liberty University policies, representing the University in an exemplary manner.
- Work effectively as a team member, embracing and fostering LU’s Christian model and Mission – Training Champions for Christ.
Qualifications And Credentials
- Education and Experience: Earned a graduate degree or doctorate in an Engineering discipline such as Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Computer, and Industrial & Systems disciplines. To teach at the baccalaureate or Master’s level, faculty will need to possess a Master’s degree in the related discipline with experience desired. To teach at the Doctoral level, faculty will need to possess a Doctorate in the related discipline with experience desired.
- Relevant certifications are a definite plus.
- Minimum of 3 – 5 years teaching experience either in a classroom or online or a combination of both.
- Minimum of 3 – 5 years applied experience in a related field.
ABILITIES AND COMPETENCIES
- Communication and Comprehension: Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing to convey clear, well articulated information.
- Ability to understand, speak, and write English in order to convey messages and correspond in an articulate and professional manner.
- Possess public communication skills that allow professional representation of Liberty University.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Computer skills and scheduling skills.
- Problem Solving: Intuitively able to reason, analyze information and events, and apply judgment in order to solve problems of both a routine and complex nature.
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Work Environment: The working environment in which one will typically perform the essential functions of this position is a climate-controlled setting. It is well lighted, and the noise level is moderate. Working environment may include facilitation of events outdoors occasionally.
- Driving Requirements: If the employee is required to travel in performing the duties and responsibilities of the position, the use of one’s personal vehicle (or LU vehicles) may be required for travel. Proof of a valid driver’s license, an acceptable DMV record, LU Driving Approval, and liability insurance is required when driving in the performance of the employee’s position.

Courses are typically paid at $800 per load hour.
