About the role

Assists residents through resources and referrals within designated Central City Concern Fair market and Section 8 Communities. The Resident Services Coordinator (RSC) builds community by holding events and meetings to foster cohesion among tenants. This individual works with residents and staff to find solutions to financial and behavioral problems that could jeopardize continued housing.

Hazel Heights is a 153-unit Low Income Housing Tax Credit building located in the Hazelwood neighborhood of SE Portland, consisting of one-bedroom and two-bedroom units.

Responsibilities

  • Identify resident issues and provide links to resources assisting residents with continued housing.
  • Mediate neighbor disputes and tenant/landlord disputes.
  • Assist and support residents by sharing information and educating them about building rules and policies.
  • Serve as a liaison between housing programs and service providers, including those directly associated with residents.
  • Establish and maintain ongoing communications with the Portfolio Manager and Client/Resident Monitors.
  • Network with community agencies to link residents to resources and help coordinate monthly tenant council meetings.
  • Maintain an activity log reflecting resident interactions and prepare accurate reports.
  • Interview applicants prior to move-in to complete a basic needs assessment and ensure they meet building criteria.
  • Follow up regularly with residents to ensure their needs are met.
  • Refer residents to employment opportunities, supported employment, benefits, entitlements, medical, and mental health resources as needed.
  • Function as part of a supportive housing team and report to various job sites as directed.
  • Respond to and investigate resident reports of building, community, or CCC process issues.
  • Create and execute community programs and activities, including ready-to-rent, financial literacy, neighborhood safety, potlucks, movie nights, and community meetings.
  • Adhere to all state and federal privacy and security regulations, and CCC policies regarding confidentiality.
  • Immediately report any breach of protected health information or personal identification information.
  • Participate in the Resident Quality Improvement Council as requested.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or G.E.D. (advanced education is desirable).
  • One year of applicable experience in a supportive housing environment and/or related experience working with people experiencing behavioral health and/or substance abuse issues.
  • Knowledge of chemical dependency and treatment.
  • Experience working with people who experience mental illness preferred.
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
  • Must carry an agency-provided cell phone for work use.
  • Valid driver’s license preferred. If required to drive, must pass a DMV background check and be designated an “acceptable” driver per CCC’s Fleet Safety Policy.
  • Physical ability to bend, stoop, kneel, squat, twist, reach, pull, lift heavy objects, and climb stairs with no or reasonable accommodation.
  • Ability to adhere to CCC’s drug-free workplace policy.
  • Ability to interact effectively with individuals from diverse ethnic, religious, cultural, and lifestyle backgrounds, treating each with respect and dignity.

Pay

$23.86/hr - $31.67/hr. Final compensation will be determined based on relevant experience, education, credentials/licensure, and internal equity. External candidates: Offer max $27.69/hr per the Union contract.

Schedule

Tuesday - Saturday, 9:00am - 5:30pm (Sunday and Monday off).
