Resident Program Assistant
Areas of Primary Responsibility
- Affords assistance to the Program Director in planning, developing, and preparing a variety of physical, social, recreational, and educational events.
- Affords support for transportation and resident outings.
- Affords assistance in producing the community monthly calendar.
- Affords support in maintaining documentation and resident attendance through digital programs.
- Affords responsibility in establishing a warm and welcoming atmosphere for residents and staff.
- Affords promotion of teamwork and positive attitude among associates.
- Affords continuous evaluation of the quality and consistency of activities for residents and suggestions for adjustments, corrections, and changes as necessary.
Physical/Sensory Requirements
- Must be mobile and able to perform the physical demands of the job, including the potential for lifting greater than 50 lbs.
- The position involves long stretches on one's feet and long stretches requiring the person to drive the community van.
Qualifications: • Education or training in a health care field or certified as an activity professional by a recognized accrediting body, preferred but not required. • Experience working with seniors and those with memory loss strongly preferred. • Two years’ experience in activity planning for seniors preferred. • Must have a thorough knowledge of social and psychological needs of residents. • Ability to work without close supervision and to follow verbal and written instructions. • Must be able to prioritize, utilize good time management and problem-solving skills. • Valid driver’s license, with no major violations within 3 years. • Must have a working knowledge of and be able to utilize technology effectively.
Full-time Monday thru Friday 9a-5p, including rotating weekends.
