Supervision and Positive Behavior Management
Supervise and positively manage resident youth behavior through direct monitoring and active interaction. Ensure accountability as per treatment plans and special programs. Document daily logs, point cards, and case notes for clear communication among staff shifts.
Monitoring and Management
Maintain oversight of resident youth behavior to ensure a safe and structured living environment. Perform periodic surveillance rounds during night shifts, waking residents as necessary. Assist with chore responsibilities to maintain facility cleanliness.
Communication and Coordination
- Cooperate and coordinate with Case Managers and other shift workers for open communication regarding treatment and behavioral expectations.
- Aid in providing quality programming to all residents and assist in individual, group, and family counseling/skills training.
- Provide therapeutic interventions to youth and actively engage in their recreational, discretionary, and daily living activities.
Physical Requirements
- Frequent standing and walking.
- Sometimes sitting, reaching, handling, feeling, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling.
- Frequent going up and down stairs.
- Occasionally lifting up to 25 pounds.
- Regular talking and hearing.
- Moderate noise levels.
Qualifications
- Educational background in social work, psychology, sociology, or a related field.
- One year of work experience and two years of education/training in youth care and rehabilitation.
- Valid Oregon driver license and CPR/1st Aid certification.
