About the role
Under the supervision of attending physicians, responsibilities include patient care activities within the scope of clinical privileges commensurate with the level of training, attendance at clinical rounds and seminars, timely completion of medical records, and other responsibilities as assigned or required of all medical staff members. The Resident will adhere to all requirements defined by the accrediting body of the program (ACGME, AOA, or CPME) and all hospital requirements pertaining to a resident. The resident will remain in compliance with specialty-specific milestones per level of training.
Responsibilities
- Apply established and increasing knowledge base incorporating clinical, social-behavioral, biomedical, and epidemiological sciences to patient care.
- Provide compassionate and efficient patient care focused on health promotion and treatment.
- Demonstrate life-long learning through research and assimilation of evidence to support continued patient care initiatives.
- Exhibit effective interpersonal and communication skills to deliver clear care and information in collaboration with patients, families, health professionals, and physicians.
- Commit to the practice of medicine with the highest professional and ethical standards.
- Attend to and apply the broader context and system of healthcare, utilizing additional resources to provide the highest standard of care.
- Participate in the education of patients, families, students, residents, and other health professionals.
Requirements
- Doctorate Degree
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) Instructor certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Instructor certification must be obtained within 1 year of employment start date
- Physician in Training/Resident Registration (PIT/RR)
