About the role
The Resident Care Manager at Byron Park directs, coordinates, and supervises care services provided by care associates for the residents within the Assisted Living Department. They ensure exemplary service is delivered with integrity, dignity, and compassion. They may also be responsible for medication control and coordination with physicians.
Responsibilities
- Makes rounds to monitor and evaluate assigned residents and regularly assess levels of care, notifying the Assistant Living Director as required
- Assists residents with simple requests as needed or finds appropriate associates to assist
- Learns and understands resident preferences to provide exemplary customer service, exceed resident expectations, and enhance satisfaction
- Supervises departmental operations as directed by the department director or Executive Director
- Responds tactfully and promptly to residents, family members, and staff
- May be responsible for supervising resident medication programs and ensuring all physician orders are followed
- Reviews resident reports and documentation to ensure all care services have been delivered at each shift and notifies the Assisted Living Director of any changes in a resident's condition or needs
- Affirmatively assesses residents using the company’s resident care software system
- Manages or assists with emergency situations responsibly and calmly until aid arrives
- Assists with scheduling for care associates or care conferences
- Communicates the company vision and strategy to create alignment between daily activities and company strategy
- Manages direct reports' schedules and time-cards as necessary
- Reviews payroll documentation to minimize missed punches, monitor overtime, and manage labor costs
- Works as part of the team within the department and across the community
- Plans, prepares, and monitors daily work schedules to meet labor targets
- Assists with planning and preparing assignment sheets for Resident Assistants
- Manages and maintains the confidentiality and privacy of residents and team members
- Takes a proactive approach to increase efficiency and potentially reduce costs to support continuous improvement
- Ensures regulatory compliance and reports any issues or concerns immediately to the Assisted Living Director and Executive Director
- Supports and assists in the community sales process
Requirements
- Previous supervisory experience preferred
- High school graduate required; college course work preferred
- Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) is preferred
- One to three years’ experience working in senior care
- Must have or be able to obtain the appropriate State license required by law if required
- CPR Certified preferred
- Basic competency in the use of multiple forms of technology, including Microsoft Office applications, internet-based and custom
- Flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays as needed
Qualifications
