Directs, coordinates, and supervises care services provided by care associates for residents within the Assisted Living Department. Ensures exemplary service is delivered with integrity, dignity, and compassion. May oversee medication control and coordinate with physicians to ensure care and medications are delivered as directed. Responsible for delivering high-quality care that encourages independence and ensures each resident’s physical, social, cultural, psychosocial, and intellectual well-being.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and evaluate assigned residents, regularly assessing levels of care, especially during changes in condition, and determine appropriateness for the setting, notifying the Assisted Living Director as required.
  • Assist residents with simple requests or find appropriate associates to assist, ensuring exemplary customer service and exceeding resident expectations.
  • Effectively supervise departmental operations on a day-to-day basis under the guidance of the department director or Executive Director.
  • Respond tactfully and timely to residents, family members, and staff.
  • Supervise resident medication programs, monitor physician orders, and ensure timely and accurate follow-through.
  • Familiar with medical terminology necessary for delivering care services to residents.
  • Interface with physicians, care providers, and outside health services (e.g., hospitals, outpatient services, home health, therapies) regarding resident needs.
  • Review resident reports and documentation to ensure all care services are delivered each shift and notify the Assisted Living Director of any changes in a resident’s condition or needs.
  • Assess residents using the company’s resident care software system.
  • Manage or assist with emergency situations calmly until aid arrives.
  • Assist with scheduling for care associates or care conferences.
  • Communicate the company vision and strategy to create alignment between daily activities and company goals.
  • Manage direct reports' schedules and timecards, review payroll documentation to minimize missed punches, monitor overtime, and manage labor costs.
  • Work collaboratively within the department and across the community.
  • Conduct or assist with regular staff and daily stand-up meetings.
  • Plan, prepare, and monitor daily work schedules to meet labor targets.
  • Plan and prepare assignment sheets for Resident Assistants.
  • Manage resident confidentiality and privacy for self and team at all times.
  • Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, including wearing the proper uniform and name tag.
  • Interview, hire, train, manage, and retain highly effective associates, fostering a culture of engagement.
  • Provide coaching, mentoring, team-building, performance management, recognition, and professional development for associates.
  • Identify and develop top talent for future succession opportunities.
  • Set an example of open and honest communication among all associates.
  • Proactively seek ways to increase efficiency and reduce costs to support continuous improvement.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance and report any issues or concerns immediately to the Assisted Living Director and Executive Director.
  • Ensure the team adheres to all regulations, laws, and Kisco standards, including the Associate Handbook.
  • Understand, support, and assist as needed in the community sales process.
  • Perform other related duties as required.

Requirements

  • Previous supervisory experience.
  • High school graduate required; college coursework preferred.
  • Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) or Registered Nurse (RN) required.
  • One to three years’ experience working in senior care.
  • Experience in at least one of the following settings: Assisted Living Facility (ALF), Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF), or Memory Care Facility (MCF).

Qualifications

  • Must have or be able to obtain the appropriate State license required by law, if applicable.
  • CPR certification preferred.
  • Basic competency in using multiple forms of technology, including Microsoft Office applications, internet-based, and custom software.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays as needed.

Schedule

Full-Time | Sunday-Thursday

Pay

$90,000 - $95,000 per year, dependent on experience.
