About the role

Marjorie Doyle Rockwell Center is a unique, memory care assisted living community where we care for residents with mild to moderate levels of dementia. As a Resident Assistant (Aide), you will provide compassionate care that is respectful of each resident's needs, values, and wishes under the supervision of an LPN and/or RN.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Trinity/SPHP Vision, Mission, and Values in all encounters with residents and families
  • Adhere to the SPHP Code of Conduct
  • Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility in a respectful, compassionate manner
  • Assist residents in taking medications as needed
  • Encourage and support resident independence and dignity
  • Monitor resident safety and well-being, reporting any changes to the LPN
  • Consult with the LPN/RN on any changes in residents' health statuses
  • Build meaningful relationships with residents, understanding their personal histories, preferences, and routines
  • Anticipate the needs of residents
  • Help with light housekeeping and meal service to maintain a safe and clean living space
  • Participate in team meetings and collaborate with coworkers and supervisors
  • Promote a warm, friendly, and respectful environment

Requirements

  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to help others
  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Previous experience in senior care, health care, or assisted living preferred but not required
  • Ability to follow care plans and safety protocols
  • Working knowledge of computers, including electronic health records, email, and required applications
  • Physical, visual, and auditory ability adequate to perform resident care
  • Maintain composure and positivity in a high-stress environment
  • Promote physical, cognitive, and psychosocial well-being of each resident
  • Ability to work with residents in a highly personal manner during stages of acute and chronic illness

Pay

Pay Range: $16.70 - $20.36 per hour. Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates.
